NOTICE TO ALL RYO CIGARETTE TOBACCO CUSTOMERS:
Since the PACT act was signed into law by President Obama, many people who purchase RYO tobacco
online or via mail-order will be affected.
What is the PACT Act?
The Prevent all Cigarette Trafficking Act is a piece of legislation designed to "prevent tobacco smuggling, [and] to ensure the collection of all tobacco taxes." Now that the bill has finally come into full force, it includes these new laws:
-- Retailers that sell RYO cigarette tobacco over the Internet must collect state cigarette taxes and pay those taxes to the states where the customer resides;
-- Internet retailers must verify the age of the individual purchasing RYO cigarette tobacco to prevent underage youth from buying these products; and
-- The U.S. Postal Service is prohibited from delivering RYO cigarette tobacco through the U.S. Mail to consumers.
What does this mean to you?
If you have purchased RYO cigarette tobacco from us in the past, we may not be able to continue to sell to you in the future. We have worked hard to become compliant with these new regulations for each state. However, not every state will allow us to ship RYO tobacco into their state even though we are willing to file all of the necessary paperwork. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.
